Introducing Cats
Slow introductions prevent conflict. Use scent swapping and visual separation before face-to-face meetings.
The Rule of Thumbs
Number of resources: have n+1 litter boxes, n+1 feeding stations, n+1 sleeping spots where n is number of cats.
Vertical Space
Multiple levels allow cats to escape each other. Each cat should have access to high ground.
Resource Distribution
Scatter resources around the home. Cats should not have to pass another cat to access food, litter, or perches.
